Dr. Ramin Mehregan

Dentist in Stoughton, MA

Dentistry On Park

Dr. Ramin Mehregan graduated in 1992 with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University, School of Graduate Dentistry.

His post-graduate cosmetic training started in 1999 at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI) and was completed in 2004, where he mastered extensive hands on and live patient programs in cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.

In 1999 he met his mentor and teacher, Dr. Clayton Chan, who introduced and taught him the concepts and philosophy of Gneuromuscular Dentistry (GNM), and the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD). His never- ending educational journey continues at Occlusion Connections (“www.occlusionconnections.com”) where he is privileged to serve on the advisory board of directors.

In 2006 he completed his training in orthodontics/orthopedics, to possess the ability to provide his patients with the three main principles of dentistry:

  1. TMD – Understanding the physiologic principles of occlusion and diagnosis for successful treatment.  Physiologic health and stability of any occlusion is foundational to advanced dentistry.
  2. Restorative – Comprehending what is needed to stabilize and treatment plan cases that involve cervical dysfunction, TMJ primary problems, Class II division 2 and anterior open bites prior to preparing teeth.
  3. Orthodontics/Orthopedics - Understanding the foundation in growth and development, straight wire principles, removable and fixed appliances as well as verticalization mechanics to transition from an orthotic to natural dentition effectively.

For over a decade he has worked as a health practitioner in the field of Gneuromusculer Dentistry. As a recognized collaborator on numerous TMJ patient forums and an expert TMJ clinician, he provides many patients, both nationally and internationally, a lasting transformation from their lifelong battle with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD), by taking a comprehensive approach in combining restorative dentistry, TMJ, and orthodontic/orthopedics.

This has been an important part and choice of his professional career to remain a general practitioner so he can provide his patients with comprehensive treatment options and not be bound by the boundaries of one specialty.

Over the years he has written numerous articles for newspapers on the treatment of TMJD and was interviewed by the local ABC television network, “Healthbeat”, on this matter.

He has lectured to different dental organizations on GNM dentistry and orthodontics and currently publishes articles on his blog (http://docraminmehregan.blogspot.com/)

In addition to his passion for dentistry he has a deep passion for cooking gourmet meals and collecting wine. As a self-taught chef, who lives by the quote: “Wine, good food, family & friends”, he unwinds by creating inspiring dishes for his family and friends, which is in accord with his creative and intuitive solutions evident in his dentistry.

His hobbies include skiing in the winter and rock climbing in the summer. Most of all he enjoys the time he spends with his younger son practicing martial arts where he has earned a 2nd-degree black belt so far.
