Dr. Disharoon’s dental assistant will escort you to one of our comfortable treatment rooms where you can relax in an ergonomic chair. She may take digital X-rays of your mouth to complete or update your file. Dr. Disharoon uses X-ray images and intraoral photographs to accurately diagnose dental problems and to explain her treatment recommendations.
Next, Dr. Disharoon will introduce herself, then sit down and talk with you about your concerns, pain, goals, and expectations. At this time, if you have anything to share with her, please do so. The more we understand about your dental history and personal preferences, the better equipped we’ll be to customize a rewarding dental experience for you.
After the discussion, Dr. Disharoon will examine your oral health. This will include:
Dr. Disharoon will share her findings with you and, if appropriate, recommend dental procedures to restore optimal oral health. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. An informed patient makes wise decisions!
If you have healthy gums and a cleaning is needed, you’ll meet with our hygienist next. She’ll discuss your gum health and clean your teeth, removing plaque, tartar, and decaying food particles. Then she’ll polish your teeth to a silky smooth finish and brilliant shine. The hygienist may recommend alterations to your daily oral hygiene routine or homecare products. She can demonstrate easy brushing and flossing techniques and answer your questions, as well.
After your examination, consultation, and dental cleaning, our front desk team can help you check out. We will schedule your next visit, for dental work or for a six-month cleaning and checkup, before you leave.
We will gladly file your insurance claim and estimate your benefits. If your insurance company does not pay the estimated amount, your account will be adjusted accordingly. You may pay for your dental visit by cash, check, or credit card. For large cases, CareCredit offers up to 24 month financing with no interest to qualified applicants. Visit CareCredit online to apply, or we can apply for you here in the office.
Please plan to arrive for your appointment a few minutes early. If you need to complete new patient forms, arrive about 20 minutes early. Your appointment is a reserved time expressly for you. If you cannot make your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide us with 24 hours’ notice so that we can fill your reservation with another patient. Missed appointments, without notification, could result in a nominal charge to your account.
